Exports Matter

Lots of discussion on news shows and in newspapers about trade. Trade is no laughing matter in Loudoun.

The National Association of Counties recently released data that demonstrates exports in Loudoun for 2017 have a value in excess of $2 billion and impacts nearly 15,000 jobs. Took a look at the historical data and the numbers are quite impressive.

Loudoun Chamber has properly signed on to recent effort by the US Chamber decrying efforts of the present US Administration with respect to steep tariffs on foreign goods. As a result of these actions, local businesses like Purcellville's own Catoctin Creek are negatively impacted by EU retaliatory tariffs on US products; including whiskey.

Lets hope that cooler heads prevail and put an end to this trade war before more damage is done to local businesses.
